Diana is fluent in Spanish which has been very beneficial in communicating with some of her patients.

She is actively involved in the JOI Sports Medicine Program where she serves as assistant sports medicine director and helps with sports medicine coverage at the high school and collegiate level. Sonya also works closely with the Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Association (JJVA), helping to provide sports medicine coverage for all of their home tournaments.

He was the Sports Medicine Director (2002-08) the JOI Rehabilitation - San Marco office and Head Athletic Trainer for Bishop Kenny High School from 1999 to 2005. He specializes in throwing and running biomechanics, foot orthotics fabrication, Back School, custom splinting, biomedical assessment (tennis, throwing, running), and soft tissue mobilization using the Graston Technique (Level II trained). Currently, Matt is the Site Coordinator of JOI Rehabilitation – North.

After leaving Professional Baseball, he was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Austin Peay State University covering Football, Women's Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. For the past three years he was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at North Carolina State University covering Baseball, Men's Tennis, and Women's Tennis. Pete was a graduate assistant at Penn State University working with the track and field cross country, tennis and cheerleading while studying Kinesiology. He worked briefly with the Kansas City Royals in Fort Meyers before coming to Jacksonville, FL. Pete has worked as an Athetic Trainer in both outreach and clinical settings for more than 16 years. He treats many orthopaedic conditions and specializes in foot and ankle, as well as casting for custom orthotics. Pete joined JOI in 2008, and he is currently enrolled at the University of St. Augustine working toward a Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Michelle gained valuable experience at UF by working with the volleyball and football teams. She later interned at the University of South Florida and worked with the football team, which was invited to the Meineke Car Care Bowl, the first bowl game in USF history. While at USF, she worked mainly with the Women’s volleyball team, and helped to cover the NCAA Women’s Final Four in 2008 and the NCAA Men’s First and Second Rounds hosted in Tampa. She also helped host the Big East Tennis and Baseball Tournaments in 2008. She came to JOI in 2008, and is presently the athletic trainer for events and practices at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

Drew has been with JOI Rehabilitation staff more than five years. He joined the rehabilitation team in 2004, and in 2009 became Site Coordinator of JOI's largest rehabilitation facility, San Marco. Prior to working with JOI, he completed athletic training internships with the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and the USAT National Triathlon Training Center. He has also served as Athletic Trainer for the Jacksonville Barracudas hockey team. As an athletic trainer and avid triathlete, he enjoys working with elite and amateur athletes who have a special interest in endurance sports, including running, cycling and multisport.

Andy has been an athletic trainer with JOI Rehabilitation – San Marco for more than four years. He provides clinical coverage at San Marco, and athletic training services to The Bolles School. This is his second year serving as JOI's Sports Medicine Director, where he is responsible for overseeing the athletic trainers who staff JOI's affiliated seven high schools and one college. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, and will graduate in December 2010. Prior to moving to Jacksonville and joining the JOI staff, he worked as an assistant athletic trainer at The University of Connecticut for two years.

Julia is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist with over 20 years of experience treating upper extremity orthopaedic diagnoses. Julia has been the Hand Therapy Coordinator for JOI Rehabilitation for the past four years.
